Ouida Kay Ramey was born January 23, 1950 to Garnett Underwood and Nettie Lovell Underwood.
She was her Mothers pride and joy. On July 3, 1965, she married the love of her life Clifton Ramey.
They have been married 54 years. With proud and giving hearts they raised Rhonda, Jeff and Donna.
Each of which gave them their greatest joys, grand children Daniel, Vanessa, Makala, Isaac, Phyllip, Paul and great grandchildren Matthew, Emma Grace, Emery Lily and Beau. Mama loved her sons and daughter in laws with the same love she showed her own children.
Mama taught us to love Jesus and that we must accept him as our Savior to make it to Heaven. She taught us right from wrong. Praised us when we deserved it and told us when our lifestyle was contrary to God’s word. Her bible is worn and well-marked for she and Daddy read it almost daily.
Mama was forgiving and loved everyone. If she didn’t prefer your company, it was your fault not hers, and If you didn’t want the truth from her it was better not to ask her opinion.
She had said many times, “If I was a rich woman, I would have a home for every child that had no one to love it, and a place for elderly persons to live where they would be taken care of properly.
Mama was rich! She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She had friends and family who loved her and sought her counsel. Her children, grandchildren and their spouses loved her. Her husband Clifton and best friend loved, cherished and cared for her. She has been tough, strong and sassy.
Our Ouida Kay, our proverbs 31 woman has gone to wait for us in the presence of Jesus where she is now healed for all eternity.

Funeral services will be Thursday February 27, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with
Rev. Joe McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery Clayton, GA.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Thursday February 27, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. (The Service Hour). The family is at the home on Jeff Ramey Road Clayton, GA.

Betty Jo Woods Pineo, 51, of Snyder Valley Lane Tiger, GA., died February 15, 2020 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center Clayton, GA. She was the widow of Melvin Pineo.
Born in Rabun County Georgia., June 26,1968 she is the daughter of the Rev. Mickey Woods and Vickie Snyder Woods she was a home maker, and a member of The Plesant Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Pineo, and is survived by her parents Rev. Mickey Woods and Vickie Snyder Woods. And Several cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday February 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Dexter James officiating. Burial will follow at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger Georgia.

Born in Queens, New York., August, 14, 1953 he was The Son of Dorothy Cutolo and the late Henry Franklin Clark . He was Vessel Captain and a U.S. Air force Veteran and was of the Lutheran Faith.
He was preceded in death by his Father , Henry Clark and is survived by His Mother , one son, John Lee Clark , ., two brothers, William Clark of Queens, NY., and David Clark of Plantation, FL one sister Janet Garcia of Florida.
The body has been cremated A memorial Service at a later date. The family is at their respective residences.

Charles Langdon Bingham, age 56, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2020.
He was born on November 4, 1963 to the late James and Myra Bingham of Mt. City, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty four years Laura Denise Bingham, one son, James Bingham of the home, one daughter, Holly Hunter(Adam), five sisters, Eunice Hunter(Ronia), Dorthy Rider(James), Sandy Martin(Phil), Judy Higdon(Clark), Ginger Turpin(Fred) and one special other brother Mark Pruitt(Tina).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 22, 2020 at The Torch Worship Center located at 800 Cannon Bridge Road, Demorest, Georgia 30535.

Born in Macon North Carolina June 16, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Aurther Franklin Dills and Esther Capenter Dills . She was a Home Maker and a member of The Calvary Baptist Church
She was preceded in death besides her parents and husband by one son Kenneth Lee Mccoy four brothers Robert Dills, Horace Dills, Lester Dills , Dewey Dills. One sister Hazel Tolman. And is survived by one son Doug Mccoy of Tiger Georgia, two sisters Bernice Wood of Clayton Georgia and Martha (Charlie) Long of Otto North Carolina 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral Services will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Monday February 17, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bobby Cole officiating. The burial will follow at The Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillard Georgia.

Robert Clyde Mashburn, Sr.: Obituary

Robert Clyde Mashburn, Sr. (Bob) of Tiger, GA, age 91, died peacefully on February 13, after a brief period of illness. Bob was born in 1928 in Union County, Georgia, to Jesse Clyde Mashburn and Vonnie Augusta Smith.
While serving in the U.S. Army Bob met and married JoAnne Ness in the Territory of Alaska. After an honorable discharge from the army in 1951 as a Private, First Class, they lived in Seattle, WA; Detroit, MI; and Blairsville, GA before setting in Rabun County in 1956. Bob was a long-time member of the Tiger Methodist Church. After retiring from Clayburne Manufacturing, Bob was known throughout Rabun County and the surrounding area for his vegetable stand.
Bob had a lifelong love of music that began in his youth at home, making music with his brothers. While at North Georgia Trade & Vocational School, Bob and Alvin Carnes started the Black Rock Quartet, which years later became High Country Bluegrass.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Buel and Junior, his wife Joanne Ness Mashburn; son, Robert (Bobby) Clyde Mashburn, Jr; and daughter, Luanne Mashburn Sosebee. He is survived by his brothers Edward (Shirley) Mashburn and Richard (Reba) Mashburn of Blairsville, GA; brother El (Cathy) Mashburn of Linden, MI; Dwight (Bonnie) Mashburn of Prospect, TN; sister-in-law Arlene Mashburn, Blairsville, GA; daughter Barbara Anderson (Mark Hannan) of Washington, DC; son Chuck (Amy) Mashburn of Tiger, GA; son Alan Mashburn of Tiger, GA; daughter Lori Angela (Hugh) Nobles of Suwanee, GA; seven grandchildren: Tonya (Joao) Godoy (Avon, CT), Anna (James) Bailey (Hartwell, GA), Suzanne (Danny) Merce (Hartwell, GA), Brenna (Ashley) Thomas (Hahira, GA), Elizabeth (David) Brown (Hartwell, GA), Andrew (Amy) Sosebee (Ashville, NC) and Lena Gillam Nobles (Suwanee, GA); and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Bob will be remembered by family and friends for his love of family and music. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18th, 2020 at Tiger United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Turpen officiating. A reception will follow.

Fred Dennis Chamblee: Obituary
Obituaries February 22, 2020Fred Dennis Chamblee, 72, of the Persimmon Community went to be with his LORD and Savior February 15, 2020 with family members by his side. He was born December 15, 1947 at Clayton’s Maternity Home. His parents were the late Fred Verdo “Lit” Chamblee and Zettie Lovell Chamblee.
He was a graduate of Rabun County High School Class of 1966 and North Georgia Technical School in 1968. He served in the US Army with Battery C, 94th Artillery Division Army Security Agency while stationed at the Germany Command during the Vietnam Era. He returned home to Rabun County in 1970 and worked at Rabun Metal Products before beginning his career with the state Department of Transportation where he retired in 2005 as a Surveyor Party Chief. In 1979, he married Rosalyn Ethel Nichols. His daughter Jill Bray and her husband Chuck Bray live in the Persimmon Community and are parents to his three grandchildren, Jase Dennis Bray, Grady Willis Bray, and Lilly Carlene Bray. His son Matthew Judson Chamblee and his wife Nikki Burau Chamblee currently reside in Monument, Colorado. Dennis was preceded in death by one son Clifford Dennis Chamblee.
Dennis was very family oriented and spent the better part of his free time with his family. He was a lifetime church member holding various positions making sure his family attended regularly. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and an excellent marksman.
Being civic minded, Dennis was a founding member of the Tallulah-Persimmon Volunteer Fire Department where he faithfully served for over 40 years and answered “the call” many, many times. He also served the community by being Chairman of the Board of the Persimmon Community Club.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday 18, 2020 at the Beck Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Persimmon Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Richard Wright. He will be laid to rest at Persimmon Baptist Church Cemetery and received full fireman honors.

Nita Carolyn Mosteller Davis, age 92, of Clayton, Georgia passed away on February 16, 2020.
Nita was born in Florida to the late West Mosteller and the late Helen Riley Mosteller on April 5, 1927. In 1954 she married her late husband Thomas Leo Davis Sr. She cared for her home, and enjoyed knitting, reading, quilting and was very active in her church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nita was preceded in death by one son, Chris Davis; one sister, Miriam Delk.
Her survivors include her two sons, Thomas Davis Jr. of Clayton, Georgia, Scott Davis of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Joyce Albers, of Atlanta, Georgia; three nieces NeeCee Delk-Hulsey, Anna Haber, Mary Helen Burnett; two nephews, Wes Delk, Chappel Collins; four grandchildren, Scott Davis Jr, Samantha O’Keefee, Carly Esteves, Bryan Davis; four great grandchildren, Ethan Esteves, Bryce Esteves, Lucas O’Keeffe, Jackson O’Keeffe.
A memorial mass will be held on March 7, 2020 at the St. Helenas Catholic Church in Clayton, Georgia with a time to be announced closer to service date.

James Charles Burnes III: Obituary

James Charles Burnes III, a resident of Lakemont, GA was retired from Land Management of Georgia Power Co. Mr. Burnes was born in Macon, GA and grew up in Sparta, GA. Mr. Burnes was an Eagle Scout. He attended Young Harris College and the University of Georgia. He served in the United States Air Force in Zweibrucken, Germany. He received two Bachelor of Science Degrees from Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA. Mr. Burnes was a member of Clayton Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Georgia Power Ambassadors. Charlie spent his time loving his family, telling stories and spoiling his grandchildren and his dogs. Through his love of hunting and fishing, he ministered and witnessed to many people. He never met a stranger and he never failed to ask “Do you know Jesus?”
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, James Charles Burnes Jr. and Marie Bateman Burnes and one brother, Billy Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Gardner Burnes, of Lakemont; a sister, Hallie Burnes Ellerbee and brother-in-law, Corkey Ellerbee, of Milledgeville; a sister-in-law, Lathia Reynolds, of Covington, GA; a daughter, JaCee Marie Burnes Trpik and son-in-law, Joseph R. Trpik Jr., of Chicago, IL; a son, Brannon Gardner Burnes and daughter-in-law, Summer Lea Burnes of Sylva, NC; three grandchildren, Autumn Marie Burnes, Robert Gardner Burnes and Emma Lea Burnes, of Sylva, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 22, 2020 at the Clayton Baptist Church from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.

Ronald ‘Ron” Eugene Vandiver, age 52, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on February 20, 2020.
Ron was born the son of the late Ronald Eathel Vandiver and Linda Taylor Vandiver on May 24, 1967 in Clayton, Georgia. Ron was a Christian and attended the Level Grove Baptist Church. In professional life he was a Senior Technician at Itron. He loved reading, learning and technology. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved camping with his sons. He always enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences with others. He had a brilliant mind that always enjoyed learning. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Eathel Vandiver.
His survivors include his mother, Linda Taylor Vandiver, of Tallulah Falls, Georgia; his wife, Sandra Reed Vandiver, of Clarkesville, Georgia; five sons, Matthew Vandiver (Sophia), James Vandiver (Farrah), Adam Vandiver, David Vandiver, Luke Vandiver, all of Clarkesville, Georgia; his daughter, Lauren Frady (Zack), of Clarkesville, Georiga; two sisters, Amy Sgro (Sam), of Turnerville, Georgia, Melinda Johnson (Michael), of Clayton, Georgia; one grandson, Lawson Frady and a granddaughter on the way.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 22, 2020 at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Georgia from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Rev. Harold Wesley Houck, age 91, passed away on February 10, 2020 at his granddaughter’s home.
He was born on July 21, 1928 in Rabun County, Georgia to John and Maude Wilbanks Houck. He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired from General Motors as a group leader. He was a member of the VFW American Legion as well as a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lois Houck a son Gary Houck, one sister Louise Gravley, and two brothers James Houck and Jeff Houck.
He is survived by five daughters, Marie Watts of Clayton, GA., Sandy Walker(Carl) of Lake Orion, MI., Tammy Sparks(Tim) of Jefferson, GA., Susan West(Steve) of Clayton, GA. and Judy Lovell(Tim) of Wiley, GA., two sons, Dale Houck of Clayton, GA., and Norman Houck of Clayton, GA., two sisters, Ruth Shirley of Clayton, GA., and Edna Warren of Snellville, GA., two brothers, Hubert Houck(Lucy) of Clayton, GA., and Roy Houck of Clayton, GA., Seventeen grandchildren, Crystal, Josh, Jacki, Jenni, John, Joe, Amanda, Martha, Alexa, Andrew, Timmy, Tara, Sara, Anna, Robi, Jeffy, and Sissy along with twelve great grandchildren, Caytlin, Candice, Cryslin, Jimmy, Brock, Colby, Gary, Gatlin, Joe Jr, Julia, and Natosha also survive.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday February 12, 2020 where visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (the funeral hour) with a funeral service to follow conducted by Pastor Raymond Page and Reverend Kenny Griffin.

Randolph “Bill” Wilson Reeves: Obituary

Randolph “Bill” Wilson Reeves, age 85, passed away on February 11, 2020.
Bill was born the son of the late James Randolph Reeves and the late Grace Evelyn Scott Reeves on May 26, 1934. Bill was a Christian and a member of the Clayton First United Methodist Church. He served his country in the Armed Forces, and achieved the rank of Lt. Col in the Army National Guard. In his professional life he was an owner and operator of Reeves Hardware in Clarkesville, Georgia. When he sold the hardware store he began working for the Ace Corporation. He then went on to work as an instructor and Director of the Warehouse Management program at Gwinnett Technical College for fifteen years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Robert Reeves and Jack Scott Reeves; one sister, Mary Jane Reeves.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra Leah Smith Reeves; his children, William Edward Reeves (Nancy Dodd Reeves), of Lilburn, Georgia, Rebekah Reeves Alley, of Lilburn, Georgia, Randolph Scott Reeves (Beth Singletary Reeves), of Decatur, Georgia; four grandchildren, Mary Grace, Liza Marie, Olivia, William; his sister, Grace Evelyn Reeves Church (Douglas Reeves Church), of Clarkesville, Georgia; sisters in law, Faye Sosebee Reeves, of Clarkesville, Georgia, Charlotte Brewer Reeves, of Clarkesville, Georgia; one brother in law, Jack Hubert Grant, of Lone Pine, California.

James Verlin Keener: Obituary

James Verlin Keener, 79, of Wolffork Road Rabun Gap, GA., died February 11, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. He was the widower of Flossie Moore Keener.
Born in Rabun County Georgia April 16, 1940 he was the son of the late James E. Keener and Beatrice Keener. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the 101 First Alert Airborne Division in Port Camel, KY. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Wolffork Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Keener and Beatrice Keener. His wife, Flossie Moore Keener and two sons, Lee Keener and Robert Moore and is survived by one son, Sheldon Keener of Enorea, SC., two daughters and their companions, Marilyn Cooper and Michael Heath of Westminster, SC., Kelly Gilliam and Austin Doyle of Westminster, SC. Thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Friday February 14, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. with Rev. Harvey Conner officiating the church services. The burial will follow at Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery where Rev. Thomas Burrell will conduct the graveside service.
