Clayton Pair Arrested on Trafficking in Cocaine Charge Following Traffic Stop

PRESS RELEASE – On Thursday, just before 4 p.m., Rabun County Sheriff’s Office K9 units pulled over a 2020 black Honda Civic traveling north on GA 15/US 441 near the River Falls Campground.

While one K9 Deputy spoke to the driver, Abraham Montiel, a 21-year-old Hispanic male from Clayton, the other K9 Deputy noticed that Deborah Sir, a 69-year-old white female from Clayton, was slumped back in her passenger seat.

Upon checking on Sir’s well-being, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.

The driver was asked for consent to search the vehicle, which he granted.

Inside the car, deputies located several baggies and a large bag suspected Cocaine totaling 1 pound and 3 ounces in weight.

Both Montiel and Sir were arrested, charged with Trafficking in Cocaine in violation of OCGA

16-13-31, and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking.
